The CWL is an excellent league to give players an opportunity to advance their baseball and get signed as the league is heading into its 15th season. Players will showcase their abilities in live games and in front of pro scouts and managers to earn a pro contract before spring training begins. The last 14 years, over 850 CWL players have signed contracts to play professional baseball at all levels, including the Major Leagues. Players will report to Palm Springs Stadium on Monday, January 22nd. After two MLB showcase days on January 23rd and 24th, games will begin on January 25th. The CWL Championship will be played on Sunday, February 18th, with players departing Palm Springs on Monday, February 19th.
The California Winter League works directly with MLB scouts and Professional Independent League managers to help players Get Better and Get Signed. Players report to Palm Springs, California to play games for one month and work directly with MLB scouts and professional managers from each MLB Professional Partner League (Frontier, Atlantic, American Assoc. Pioneer) that are a part of our staff during their offseason. These scouts and managers are looking to sign players for their professional organizations, and they come to the CWL every year with contracts in hand eager to sign players. Playing time is balanced on each team and the league takes a developmental approach to ensure that every CWL player leaves the league a better overall player than when they arrived. Whether a player has professional experience already or is looking to begin their pro playing career after college, the CWL has the track record, reputation, infrastructure, and ability to help every player reach the next level.
